Why do it?
I undertook this event to raise funds for WaterAid and redr uk: two charities that use engineering skills to assist those in need to help themselves. I also did it as I had wanted to do LE2JOG and could not miss the opportunity of doing it and helping others in the process. The Three Peaks were added as it seemed such a shame to not do Snowdon and Scafell Pike, that none of us had done before, when passing by. Ron, a doctor in General Practice, did it to raise funds for MALAWI CLINICS: a project he set up to help narrow the gap in access to resources between healthcare professionals in the developing and the developed world.
Please visit these sites via the links above to see what it is they do. If you want to donate to redr uk or WaterAid please do so via their websites.
To donate to MALAWI CLINICS contact Sam Riddell at Westgate Medical Practice.
Your donations will allow these organisations to continue their valuable work.
Please have a look at the charities' pages to see more details about why and who I did the ride for. The daily logs allow each day's ride or walk to be seen in detail with the distances and height gains. Full details of each day's ride with all the metrics and elevation profile can be seen at Ride With GPS by clicking on the map at the end of each day's page.

We would like to say a big thank you to those who who run the various B & Bs, etc we stayed at en route. The breakfasts you served up were much appreciated and powered us for many of the miles each day. The Riders items take you to pages where we say a bit about ourselves and the Training days items show some of the trips we did to try and prepare for the event.
If you want to leave any messages then email to fraser(at)cairntoul.net (replace the (at) with a @) but please don't expect a rapid response as it's not my main email account.
